Design Philosophy

Our work stems from an overriding concern with light and space as interpreted through an industrial palette of materials. Our fundamental interest is in concrete, steel and glass as a foundation for creative, lasting offerings to the city's architectural landscape. Our design accounts for contextual forces, while integrating the universal qualities of permanence, transparency and openness. We seek creative excellence by the articulation of the relationship of the part to the whole and the implementation of creatively programmed space, resulting in highly organized, innately pleasing structures.

Project History

With a staff of licensed architects in both Los Angeles and Malibu, our projects span the western United States from Sun Valley, Idaho to Seattle, Washington and throughout Southern California. Our portfolio demonstrates a breadth of expertise from adaptive reuse of historic structures to ground-up construction in both the commercial and residential sector. Projects include several award winning nationally listed historic buildings, signature office buildings, medical office suites, office interiors, sustainable projects, retail spaces, custom residences apartment buildings and loft spaces throughout Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Culver City and Malibu.

Environmental

Much of our recent work has focused on the application of sustainable principles. Our adaptive re-use Liberty Livewire/Steelworks project has been very successful in demonstrating that quality design standards and green design principals can lead to inventive solutions. The firm is currently in production on a mixed use project in West Los Angeles that will apply aggressive energy saving measures as a part of an overall green design strategy.
